Pulwama Feb 2: Dozens of coaching centres are running in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district with the Government Professors, Associate Professors, Lecturers and teachers of higher education working as faculty there. Although some of these coaching centres are even registered with Education Department but they are involved in gross violation of the government guidelines.

These centres include BCI, Shah-I-Hamdan, FCI, Oriental and Newton.
It is pertinent to mention that the School Education Department imposed a complete ban on government school teachers from taking classes at private coaching institutes.

The move comes in the wake of the implementation of the Right to Education (RTE) Act-2009 in J&K. The RTE Act 2009 became applicable in J&K in October 2019 following the abrogation of Article 370 of the Indian constitution by the Government of India.

Meanwhile, the DSEK confirmed to the Current news Service that all the government teachers have been barred from taking classes in private tuition centres or coaching institutes as per the provisions of the RTE Act-2009.

“The CEOs in other districts have also issued instructions regarding this. We received complaints from some districts and the instructions were issued to the teachers that they can’t take classes in private tuition centres,” the DSEK said.

When CNS contacted CEO Pulwama She said, “We have issued the circular and written to ADC Pulwama for action”

She added that the DC administration is law implementing body and they can only ensure that those involved in violating guidelines and illegal working coaching centres are sealed.

The Hoarding at such centres are displaying the names of these government teachers along with their numbers challenging the government order within broad daylight

Meanwhile Tehsil administration Pampore sealed many illegally working coaching centres while as such action is missing at district level. (CNS)
