Srinagar: Musadiq Basu holding Bachelor’s degree in computers and Masters degree in Business Administration had worked with multi nationals in Europe and India who is today serving as a reputed SDPO( Sub-division police officer) in Zakura Nigeen area of district Srinagar.
During conversation with Musadiq, He said that in 2009 after qualifying KPS exams he joined J&K Police Department. Earlier He had worked at different positions and had headed the IT(Information Technology) department of J&K police for over 4 years. He said that “He had helped J&K police in modernisation and also in setting up the cyber crime police stations, cyber forensic labs and other units in modernisation”.
While Talking To Him He Shared , Post that he had worked as SDPO west Srinagar and now is working as SDPO Zakura Nigeen area of district Srinagar. “The journey is going fine, what I aspire is that we must do something on the front of the governance for the people and policing is an important part of governance where people deserve good policing for themselves” , Musadiq Said.
My minor contribution has been in the form of modernizing the J&K policing in an assignment where we set up cyber crime police stations, as well as played a role in Integrated Criminal Justice System to be modernized by setting up of CCTNS i.e Crime and Criminal Tracking network system added Musadiq. It is a project under Indian government for creating a comprehensive and integrated system for effective policing through e-Governance. The system includes nationwide online tracking system by integrating more than 14,000 police stations across the country. The project is implemented by National Crime Records Bureau which in turn is connected with the other parts of the integrated criminal justice system like E-courts and E-prisons.
Musadiq Basu Also Shared That, “Once coming into the field, he registered a case, caught a scandal about immoral trafficking i.e the only case registered under immoral trafficking in last few years in Srinagar. As present assignment being the SDPO Zakura, some public importance investigation like recently he had headed the special investigation team revealed the cold blooded murder case of a lady who was about to get married but got killed before the day of her marriage and the case was solved in a recorded time.
Apart from that the issues of public interest where we can provide some assistance, some relief to the public because what we believe is that police force in the modern era has been set up for the destitutes, poor, for the down turned people who do not have muscle or might to take on those who want to oppress them in the form of taking away their rights. So they turn up to a department and it is this police department which becomes their muscle, strength to get their rights and on this principle we try to provide some assistance to the people irrespective to their religion, caste, color, creed said Musadiq.
During The Course we managed To know that, “Musadiq Basu is a very loyal person who serves his nation in his best possible way. He never made any difference on color, creed, religion. He is the one who is not just known for his work but also for his humanity and his behavior towards the public for the betterment of the society. There are very less people like Musadiq who at this point of their life manage both their public and personal life in a very managed way”.
In the end of the interview Musadiq said that, “In this modern era and with the advent of technology, this is the world of globalisation which means connected to each other so we too need to be global citizens. We need to promote our heritage of Kashmir, the products like kashmir handicrafts: shawls, paper machie,which are loved by the people outside by in a very well manner and honestly.But with the advent of technology things are sold online but that should also be done in a genuine way and should live a decent livelihood”.
Not only this Musadiq added a message that our youth in indulge in many negative activities like drug for that police is at front but they too need the help of the public in eradicating the people involved in drugs for the betterment of our society. Drug abuse is a serious problem on the modern times. We have seen many people especially the younger generation indulging in drug addiction.
This Is Necessary To Be Mentioned That, “Drug abuse is causing millions of illness and deaths across the world. Apart from having a health hazards it also causes various social evils like criminal offences, violence, child abuse etc. Drug abuse starts with a good feeling but slowly the person gets addicted to drugs leading to various issues.Drug abuse is spreading in all over the world and it is trapping especially the youth and children, as they are considered as the future of a nation so by involving them in drug abuse means destroying the future of that country”.
