Srinagar, May, 16: Faiz Khan is a Social Worker and Good Filmmaker. He has started his work with Kashmir Education Initiative and began to create a video for them during the weekly interactions & seminars and events based on children in the remote areas of Kashmir provision.
Soon after he completed his 10+2, he joined the Voluntary Health Association of India (VHAI) as a Community Volunteer. He was dispensing essential medicines to the patients. He has served almost 25 patients during his one year of tenure as a volunteer. During that time Kashmir was under complete lockdown, he used to travel by foot to the medical facility and provide medicines to the patients. He faced a lot of challenges, but he followed his command and showed resilience to serve his community in his best capacity as a community Volunteer and never let any patient suffer because of a lack of medicine.
He has earned a bachelor’s degree in social work and Filmmaking. He started working with community health care as a volunteer where he developed an interest to work for the underprivileged people and document their sufferings and pains. He was famous in the filmmaking community where he displayed his work and talent and received many accolades and appreciations. Faiz Khan hails from Downtown, Hawal area. He was Content Manager/Video Editor for STEARS, a social campaign to eradicate gender stereotypes. It was a global initiative breaking stereotypes against women and LGBT groups. Surprisingly, more than 13 countries participated in this campaign and started sending the video as showing spontaneous solidarity towards the LGBT community. Each day they were receiving video which needed editing and content, Faiz Khan was tirelessly working to make this campaign successful. They have successfully uploaded more than 1100 videos and photo stories which were widely reached to the global audience.
In 2017, he has made more than 150 videos and documentaries for national and international NGOs about leadership training, communication skills, and writing workshops. His only aim was to attend these workshops and make documentaries to spread awareness and hone the skills of underprivileged youths of Kashmir. He has started a campaign online where he was writing articles on social issues to aware the general public about the sufferings of the people living in remote areas.
Hinan Manzoor When a recent lockdown was announced Faiz Khan with his old friend Hinan Manzoor started a page titled JandK Stories. Hinan hails from Downtown Srinagar, an MBA pass out from the Kashmir University. He started his career with Amazon India at Bangaluru
Hinan Manzoor and then joined event management and now works with Red FM. Besides this, he is a social media strategist and in digital marketing. He wanted to pursue his passion to serve his community and meets Faiz Khan to start a social media page and a website that is under construction to tell the stories of people to the world. They didn’t lose the resolve in the recent pandemic situation that confronted the general public, Faiz Khan and Hinan created an online platform J&K Stories wherein they are inviting people to tell us stories and experiences under lockdown. They have received many stories and have posted many of them on this platform. They are creative and innovative in their profession and always think to help needy people. Faiz Khan a great community leader with good years of experience in social work and filmmaking which complements the to document the stories of local people.

When he was asked whether he received any financial support for this initiative, he replied that he is doing it selflessly for the people of Kashmir.
