3 persons arrested for illegal extraction & transportation of minerals in Pulwama
October 15 (GNS): Police in south Kashmir’s Pulwama have arrested three persons and seized from them as many vehicles for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in the district.
“Officers from PS Kakapora in presence of District Magistrate Officer Pulwama, during Naka checking at Kandizal Kakapora area seized 02 tippers and 01 Dumper bearing registration numbers JK13E-1679, JK13E-2147 & JK13E-0301 and arrested 03 persons involved in extraction and transportation of sand and Bajri”, a police spokesperson in a statement issued to GNS said.
The accused, as per the statement, have been identified as Shafiq Ahmad Rather resident of Nehama, Mohd Shahid Bhat resident of Lelhar and Ab Majeed Panjo resident of Kakapora.
A case vide FIR No. 138/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Kakapora and further investigation initiated in this regard. (GNS)
