In a first Kashmiri Singer Qaisar Nizami nominated for Grammy Awards
Srinagar, Nov 15, KNT: In a first, Kashmiri musician Qaiser Nizami has been nominated for 64th Annual Grammy Awards for his song ‘Nazninay’ (O Beauty).
Reports said that this is for the first time that any Kashmir musician has been nominated for the Grammy Awards.
Nizami sung the nominated song at US shortly before the outbreak of Covid-19 and subsequent lockdown.
“Never before has any singer of the Valley had the privilege of having had any of his songs chosen for the Grammy Awards”, Nizami said while requesting his fans to share his music.
The nominations of the 64th Grammy Awards will be formally announced on 23 November, while the award ceremony itself will take place on 31 January 2022. (KNT)
