Massive fire breaks out in Old DH building Bandipora

Bandipora, 25 Nov: Office of a Block Medical Officer (BMO) was gutted in fire in north Kashmir’s district of Bandipora on Thursday evening.
They said fire broke out under mysterious circumstances in a BMO office in Bandipora today evening.
Fire tenders rushed to douse the leaping flames, clearly visible from a distance.
However, before the blaze could be brought under control, the building was damaged, they said, adding the official records of the block were gutted in the incident.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known. However locals said a blast like sound was heard seconds before the fire broke out. “It looked like gas cylinders burst inside,” They said. Fire fighting operation continued till last reports came in.
Police have registered a case and initiated investigation. Meanwhile Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad ordered an inquiry to ascertain actual cause of fire.
