KU B-tech, law students stage protest, demand online exams

Srinagar, Dec 02 (KNO): B -tech and law students from Kashmir University on Thursday protested and reiterated their demand for the conduct of examinations online instead of proposed offline mode by the varsity.
Scores of B-tech students from Institute of Technology Zakura campus and law students including boys and girls as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) assembled while holding banners in their hands reading“ We demand online exams”, “ Online exam unexpected”, “and we want justice to press in favour of online exams.
The protesting students said that they are protesting against the decision of the Kashmir University as the they have decided to conduct offline exams of all the students when 90 percent classes were conducted online.
“Before few days ago the university issued a notification for our examinations. Only few days have been left, how is it possible for us to prepare for the exams within a short period of time,” one of the B-Tech protesting student said.
“We are not ready for offline exam as of now. We are demanding the Kashmir University to conduct our exams online,” the student said.
“Everyone knows that Covid cases are increasing. How is it safe for us to attend offline exams. Why are they forcing us to put our lives at danger, the students said.
A student of 9th semester B.A.LLB said that their classes were conducted online and later a notification was issued that fully vaccinated students can attend offline classes followed by notification that a single dose vaccinated won’t be allowed in the campus.
“We appeal to the authorities to postpone our offline exam and roll out a new date sheet notification for online exams,” the protesters said.
