Srinagar, Aug 24 An earthquake, measuring 4.1 on Richter Scale, hit Jammu and Kashmir in the night hours of Wednesday.
The epicenter of the quake was at a depth of 5 kms at latitude 33.20 (North) & longitude 75.56 (East), which is 6 kms North of Doda town. The earthquake was felt at time of 11:04 p.m.
Earlier, seven more mild earthquakes of magnitudes less than 4.0 were felt since 22 August in Jammu and Kashmir, causing fear in people. However, no loss of life or property was reported in any of the earthquakes. (KNA)
