J&K: 7 militants, army officer killed in November

Srinagar, Dec 3: Eight militants including two locals were killed in November this year in Jammu and Kashmir.

The data available with the news agency Kashmir News Trust reveals that in November besides the killing of 8 militants, an army officer and a civilian were killed in militancy-related incidents. There were over 8 encounters between militants and joint forces, resulting in many casualties.

The data reveals that in the month of November, two migrant workers from Saharanpur UP Usman and Sufiyan were injured in a militant attack at Mazhom Magam area of Budgam. Militants also fired upon army in Panner Bandipora and escaped into forests.

A LeT Commander Usman was killed in the Khanyar Srinagar encounter. Four security personnel were injured in that encounter.

Two local militants were killed in the Hakan Gali Shangus Larnoo encounter in South Kashmir’s Anantnag.

At least 12 persons were injured in a grenade attack in TRC Srinagar. Later on, a woman from Naidkhai Bandipora Abida alias Samiya Jan succumbed to her injuries.

A militant was killed while 2 security men were injured in Ketsun forest area encounter in Bandipora.

An encounter broke out in Lola bara of Kupwara district in which a militant was killed.

Two VDG members Nazir Ahmed and Kuldeep Kumar were killed by militants in Ohli Kuntwara forest area of Kistwar.

Two militants were killed in Sagipora Sopore encounter while a militant was killed in the Rajpor Sopore encounter.

A Junior Commissioned Officer Rakesh Kumar was killed and 3 security personnel sustained injuries in the Keshwan forest area of Kishtwar.

A gunfight also broke out in the Nagmarg area of Bandipora and in Badimarg area of Yaripora in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district. [KNT]
