Kulgam December 27: In a persistent effort to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Kulgam Police have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A Police party of police station Qaimoh established a checkpoint at Khudwani Byepass-NHW, and during checking one suspicious person carrying a bag was intercepted. During search, *4 Kgs of Poppy Straw* like contraband substance concealed in the said bag was recovered. The said person identified as *Raj Kumar son of Meer Chand resident of Batote Ramban* was arrested on spot.
Accordingly a case vide FIR no 109/2024 U/S 8/15 NDPS act stands registered at *police station Qaimoh* and investigation has been taken up.
Kulgam Police affirms its steadfast commitment of eliminating drug peddling in the district with the full might of law. We also caution those engaged in this unlawful activity that the long arm of law would catch them sooner than anticipated and every offender will face justice.
