Srinagar, April 17: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday ordered the transfer and posting of 96 IPS and JKPS officers, including several DIGs and SSPs, in a move aimed at streamlining policing operations across the Union Territory.

The transfer order, issued by the Home Department under Government Order No. 207-Home of 2025, resulted in notable changes in key positions across the state’s police setup. Among the major appointments, Sheikh Junaid Mehmood IPS was posted as DIG IR Kashmir, while Sarah Rizvi IPS was assigned as DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range. Rayees Mohammad Bhat IPS, who was earlier DIG Udhampur-Reasi, has now been posted as DIG CID Kashmir, a critical position linked to counter-terrorism and intelligence gathering.
