Poonch, May 18: On the directions of SSP Poonch, searches were carried out on Sunday in Chhambar Kanari area of Saujiyan sector in Mandi tehsil of Poonch district by joint forces.
Official sources told news agency JKNS that the exercise was conducted in the presence of Additional SP Poonch Mohan Sharma and DySP Operations Surinder Choudhary.
Sources said that houses of suspected former overground workers (OGWs) and their possible associates were thoroughly searched following specific intelligence inputs.
The action is aimed at tracing any links with handlers across the border, they said. (JKNS)
