Kulgam, Jan 3: Police in South Kashmir’s Kulgam have traced a woman who had gone missing on November 17, 2025, and reunited her with her family after sustained efforts and coordinated investigation.
Officials said that on November 26, 2025, Police Station Kulgam received a written complaint from Waseem Ahmad Wani, stating that his wife, Bisma Jan, was missing from her rented accommodation at Amnoo area of Kulgam since November 17. Acting promptly on the complaint, police lodged a missing report and initiated a detailed investigation.
Following the registration of the missing report, a comprehensive search operation was launched by Kulgam police under the close supervision of DySP Headquarters Kulgam and the Station House Officer of Police Station Kulgam. Multiple police teams were mobilised, and all available technical as well as human resources were utilised to trace the missing woman.
After days of sustained efforts, the police team succeeded in locating the woman from Jalandhar. Police said that after completing all necessary legal and medical formalities, the woman was safely handed over to her relatives.
Family members of the traced woman expressed gratitude and relief, and lauded the prompt response, dedication and professionalism shown by Kulgam police in ensuring her safe return. [KNT]
