Anantnag, June 21; Anantnag Police Continuing it’s War against drug peddlers arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
Police party from Police Post Sangam during routine Naka on NHW 44 near Sangam Chowk intercepted a vehicle bearing registration No. JK03A-3234 driven by Muzaffar Ah Das S/O Ali Mohd Das resident of waghama Bijbehara alongwith boarded person namely Fayaz Ahmed Bhat S/o Mohd Ramzan Bhat R/o Katriteng and during search of the vehicle about 57 kgs of Poppy Straw (Fukki) were recovered from the said vehicle.
In this connection, Case FIR No. 183/2021 under relevant sections of the law stands registered in Police Station Bijbehara and investigation into the matter has been taken up.
Anantnag Police once again appeals the people of the District to come forward with the information regarding drug peddlers so that curative steps can be taken against them.
