Bandipora, Nov 3, KNT: A local court in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district convicted all 9 accused in the murder of a former Ikhwani Commander.

In 2014, Abdul Rashid Wagay son of Abdul Gani Wagay, alias Koblay (45), ex-Ikhwan commander and local Sarpanch, hailing from Kathpora village of Bandipora district was critically injured and subsequently died in a fight with local shopkeepers over denial of a gas cylinder to Koblay.

Police had registered a case vide FIR No. 105/14 under section 302/RPC in this regard and had arrested 9 accused including a lady in this regard.

All the accused were presented today in the court of Additional and Sessions Judge Bandipora who convicted all the accused. The accused are lodged in Srinagar Central Jail.

Advocate Shoib Deewani represented the deceased while state was represented by public prosecutor Abdul Majid Bhat. (KNT)
