Srinagar, July 8: A fresh spell of unstable weather is set to impact the Kashmir Valley in the coming hours, with the Meteorological Department warning of fairly widespread activity, including intense rain showers, gusty winds, and possible hailstorms across many parts of the region.
According to the kashmir weather watch, several districts—particularly in central and south Kashmir—may experience sudden and intense precipitation accompanied by strong winds. Isolated areas could also witness hailstorms and a sharp drop in temperature.
Authorities have advised residents to stay indoors during the peak activity period and avoid travel to vulnerable hilly areas, which could be prone to landslides and waterlogging. Farmers have also been urged to take necessary precautions to protect their crops from possible hail damage.
The weather disturbance is likely linked to the interaction between monsoonal winds and a western disturbance affecting the western Himalayan region. The spell is expected to last until late evening, with improving conditions thereafter.
