ANANTNAG, APRIL 23: The District Magistrate, Anantnag, Bashir Ahmad Dar today visited newly constructed Eqlavya Model Residential School at Salia, Anantnag to augment the capacity for wellness centres in the district in view of the COVID – 19 pandemic.
He was accompanied by Additional District Magistrate, Anantnag Syed Yasir Kubrvi and other officers.
It was given out that the said school has a capacity of 200 beds with all the basic facilities including water, power and other facilities in place, besides being located at a picturesque location.
The DM directed the EO, MC, Seer to ensure cleanliness in and around the premises and ready the institution for use as a wellness centre.
On the occasion, the DM said that district administration is geared up to contain COVID – 19 infection, in the district. He said all the basic amenities are ensured at the quarantine centres adding that adequate supply of essentials has been stocked at the twin red zones of Cheki e Wangund and Nowgam Shangus.
The DM renewed his appeal to public for staying home and observing social distancing. He cautioned against rumour mongering and called for sifting facts from fiction.
