Have started the process, many are heading towards Kashmir, says DC SgrSrinagar, Apr 16 (KNS): Almost 53 students who were evacuated from Iran recently and had been kept in quarantine in Jaisalmeer Rajasthan on Thursday refuted news reports about their return to Valley. However as per DC Srinagar, the process of bringing students stuck outside Union Territory have been initiated and presently many are heading towards their homes. Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS) over phone, students said that some media outlets have published ‘unverified’ news reports about our return which is absolutely ‘baseless’ and ‘far from reality’. “The news reports published by some media organizations are baseless. We are still stranded here without knowing what will happen with us ahead”, students said. They said we have been left unattended from several weeks and no arrangement has been made for our return to Valley. Students said today there have been a meet of officials in Jaisalmeer in which our return to Valley was discussed but no exact date has been given. They appealed media outlets not to publish unverified new items which can lead our parents in further distress and appealed people don’t pay heed to rumours. Meanwhile Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar Dr Shahid Iqbal Chowdhary said that the administration has started the process of bringing back students to Valley. “We have started the process of bringing students from outside states to Kashmir. Many students are heading towards Kashmir”, he said. Pertinently sitting Rajya Sabha member Fayaz Ahmad Mir had already urged upon both Central and UT governments to evacuate students from outside J&K parts. He also urged authorities to ensure special flights, trains and buses for stranded students so that they will remain with their families in current situation. (KNS)
