Srinagar, May 15: In an astounding approach majority of the coronavirus patients contracted the deadly infection across Jammu and Kashmir are speedily recovering after adhering to necessary quarantine norms transfiguring red zone areas to safer ones.

Over 50 per cent of the 1013 positive cases of COVID-19 detected in Jammu and Kashmir, around 490 have recovered including 456 from Kashmir valley and 57 from Jammu division so far, which is among the highest, in terms of percentage across the country as maximum number of patients are asymptomatic showing mild symptoms which is the main reason of the faster recoveries, medical expert revealed.

Pertinently, percentage of the recovered persons from the pandemic is significantly increasing as earlier Srinagar and Bandipora districts were despondencingly among the worst hit areas for Coronavirus while both the districts in a lief tops the list in the recovered patients with 122 patients recovered in Bandipora followed by Srinagar 84, Baramulla 67, Kupwara 48, Shopian 63, Ganderbal 14, Budgam 21, Kulgam 6 and Pulwama 5 till date.

However, once a hotspot of Covid 19, Bandipora district fights back with having only 12 positive cases, out of 135 cases in the district. “With the efforts of DC Bandipora Shahbaz Mirza, CMO Bandipora Tajamul and other team members , the district is almost ready to be in the green zone from Red Zone.” said a local from Bandipora

Chest disease specialist and head, Government Chest Disease Hospital, Srinagar Dr Naveed Shah while talking to Kashmir News Bureau revealed over 90 percent of the patients are recovering from the deadly infection, “We strictly follow the guidelines issued by Ministry of health by providing nutritious and healthy food to the patients kept under proper quarantine and isolation while those having mild symptoms are recovering with time which is around 90 percent of the total number of positive patients.”

When asked about the reoccurrence of the virus among the recovered patients he said, “Once the patients gets recovered from the disease they are at very lower risk of getting it again as the body develops antibodies against the virus and in case of reoccurrence the antibodies act against the virus and may wave off it completely in case the body has formed enough antibodies tu, in this way the recovered patients will be getting immunity for the rest population also by donating the blood platelets.”

The treatment administered to patients is being given as per the Indian Council of Medical Research guidelines which includes Hydroxychloroquine, symptomatic treatment, and anti-viral drugs, Dr Naveed further added.

Moreover, as per the data, 28,086 patients have been recovered across the whole country at present while 51,524 cases are active and 2649 deaths so far.(KNB)
