Officials at the directorate said that the CEOs of Kashmir were supposed to submit the UDISE data last year but have failed to put forward it to the concerned department till date.

According to the official documents available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK), Mohammad Younis Malik said that the CEOs were supposed to submit the authenticated UDISE data in December 2019. “But have failed to do so till date,” he said.

Malik said that in order to ensure that there is no confusion on this account, he directed the CEOs to submit the authenticated UDISE figures within a week’s time. He said this in a meeting of CEOs wherein he reviewed the progress regarding initiatives taken by the department.

In the meeting, he said the CEOs are the custodians of the younger generation enrolled in government schools and a bigger responsibility lies on their shoulders.

Director said that students are now in a phase of hybrid learning which means that a student has got learning opportunities simultaneously from various platforms. “A child should not be deprived of any one or more platforms by any means,” he said.

Malik said till date the teachers have almost completed the syllabi of Term-I through different modes of teaching—may it be through Tele-Classes, audio classes, video lectures (AAWO PADHEN), virtual class morns and other digital platforms and now is the time to culminate the Term-I teaching.

He said that the time for assessment and evaluation of Term-I was ripe and the department has come up with a comprehensive plan for the same. While explaining the assessment and evaluation plan, Malik said that the department has prepared assignment cum evaluation booklets for each and every subject upto to class 9th.

“The assignments will be distributed among the students by the concerned teachers under the supervision of concerned heads of schools keeping in view all the norms laid down regarding COVID-19 pandemic like social distancing, wearing of masks etcetera,” he said—(KNO)
