Pattan, Sep 04: One more militant has been killed in an ongoing gunfight at Yadipora area of Pattan in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district taking the toll of killing militants to 2, while an army officer, policeman were also injured.

An official informed this newspaper that one more militant were killed in the gunfight which broke out at Yadipora area of Pattan on Friday morning.

He said earleir in the day a joint team of Army’s 29 RR, SOG and CRPF sealed the area following inputs about the presence of suspecious movement.

As seach party encircled the target house, the hidding militants fired upon them thus triggering a gunfight.

In the initial stage of gunfight an army major and a SOG cop were injured and later both were rushed to MI hospital where the condition of both injured is said to be stable.

Army Spokesperson Rajesh Kalia in a statement issued to Kashmir Despatch said an army major was injured in ongoing gunfight in Yadipora Pattan area of district Baramulla is Stable at 92 base hospital here.

A police officer told this newspaper that total two militants were killed in the gunfight, he said the operation is underway. The officer added that the identification of the slain militants is yet to be ascertained.

Meanwhile, sources told Kashmir Despatch that one more militant is said to be trapped in the residential house.
