Srinagar, May 11: Dr Beauty Banday has formally taken over as new Head of the Department (HoD), School of Law, at University of Kashmir here on Tuesday.
Dr Banday, a family Law expert has taken over the charge from faculty colleague Prof Muhammad Ayoub Dar.
The formal handover ceremony, as per Srinagar-based news agency Global News Service (GNS), was held at Deans Office in presence of faculty members including Dr Mohammad Hussain, Dr. Showkat Ahmad Bhat, Dr. Mir Junaid and Dr.Mohammad Yasin.
The faculty and students have in the meantime welcomed the appointment of Dr Banday as Head of the department and expressed hope that the dint of her leadership qualities backed by her broad vision would be instrumental in taking the Law School to new heights.
It is pertinent to mention here that an order to this effect, as quoted by GNS on May 8, said that “Consequent upon her promotion as Professor, Dr. Beauty Banday shall function as Head, Department of Law for a period of (03) three years or till she attains the age of superannuation whichever is earlier, reliving Prof. Mohammad Ayub Dar of the charge of headship.” (GNS)
