Police claim to have arrested 4 JeM militants from Jammu planning to carry out attacks on I-Day

Jammu, Aug 14, KNT: Police Saturday said that it busted a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) militant module with the arrest of four persons.
Police said that the Jaish module was allegedly planning to carry out an attack on Independence Day.
Police said Muntazir Manzoor alias Saifulla son of Manzoor Ahmed Bhat resident of Prichoo Pulwama was first to be arrested in this chain and from him one pistol, one magazine, eight live rounds and two Chinese hand grenades were recovered. His truck used for transporting weapons to the Kashmir valley was also seized.
Subsequently three more Jaish militants were arrested namely Ijahar Khan alias Sonu Khan son of Intejar Khan resident of Mirdan Mohalla Kandala Shamli (UP), Touseef Ahmed Shah alias Showket & Adnan son of Ghulam Muhammad Shah of Jeff, Shopian. He was tasked by Jaish commander Shahid and another Jaish militant by the name Abrar in Pakistan to take up an accommodation in Jammu which he did. He was then asked to procure a second-hand motorcycle for causing an IED blast at Jammu. The IED for this purpose would be dropped by a drone. Touseef was arrested before he could complete this task, they said.
Jahangir Ahmed Bhat son of Musthaq Ahmed Bhat resident of Bandzoo Pulwama have been arrested in the case, they said.
Police said they were planning collection of arms dropped by drones and supply to other Jaish militants in Kashmir, plotting to plant an IED in Jammu before August 15 and reconnaissance of important targets in other parts of the country.
Police said weapons and explosives were recovered from the possession of the militants. A motorcycle IED was to be used to carry out the attack, the sources added.
Security agencies have been on high alert. Security forces in Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir have intercepted several drones over the past month while they were trying to make arms drops. (KNT)
