13 Vehicles Seized for Illegal Extraction and Transportation of Minerals in B’la
Baramulla, Nov 8 (GNS): At least thirteen vehicles were taken into seizure by police over alleged involvement in the extraction and transportation of minerals in Baramulla district.
A statement received by GNS reads that a police party of police station Baramulla under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg Hilal Khaliq alongwith officials of Geology & Mining Department seized 13 vehicles (8 Tippers, 4 Tractors and 01 JCB) for illegal extractions and transportation of minerals at Lolpora and Karaham Kunzer area of District Baramulla.
Police requests the people not to indulge in any kind of illegal mining activities from any Nallah as it is the violation of Government rules. Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law, the statement reads.
Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units, the statement concludes. (GNS)
