Bandipora villages with more than 15 thousand population without ATM facility
Bandipora, Nov 12 : The residents of several villages in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district have urged the authorities to provide ATM facility, as they have to travel more than 10 kilometres to withdraw cash.
The residents of Arin, T.A Shah, Sumlar, Chuntimulla, Sirender, Kudara and Bapora villages with a population of more than fifteen thousand have been demanding ATM facilities for the last several months.
The villagers told Arin, T.A Shah, Sumlar, Chuntimulla, Sirender, Kudara and Bapora, and Sumlar does not have a single ATM facility.
They said that they have to either travel to main town Bandipora, which is more than 10 kilometers away, or Nadihal, which is at a distance of more than 6 kilometers to avail the facility of withdrawing cash from an ATM.
“Jammu and Kashmir Bank has established ATMs in almost all the areas of Bandipora but our area has been neglected and we are forced to travel long distances to avail this facility,” Javid Ahmad Malik, a resident said.
He said that at least one ATM should be installed in the area, as it will benefit a large population.
Meanwhile, the residents appealed to the Jammu and Kashmir Bank authorities to look into their genuine demand and help resolve their long-pending demand.
