Drug peddler held with 1.5 Kg heroin in Shopian
SRINAGAR, July 21 :Shopian Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered one 1.5 KG herione from his procession in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday, a police in a statement issued to Kashmir Dispatch said.
“Continuing to its efforts and War against Drugs Jammu and Kashmir Police, today on 21/07/2020, during checking at about 1730 hours while patrolling police party of SHO Muneer Ahmed PS Shopian under the supervision of DysSP Wajahat Hussain apprehended one suspicious person carrying a bag at Kanjiullar Shopian who revealed his name as Pervaiz Ahmad Ganie S/O Gul Mohammad Ganie R/O Cheyan Ardigam Devsar Kulgam,”
“During the checking of said person, packets were recovered containing Heroine like substance weighing 1 Kg and 500 gm from his Bag,”
“In this connection case FIR No. 167/2020 U/S 8/21,22 NDPS Act registered in PS Shopian The accused was arrested on spot and investigation is going on,” the statement said.
“Shopian is continuously seeking support and cooperation from general public for curbing the drug menace from the region.” The statement added.
